Ethan Outstanding Student Award

Ethan's last day of school is today and at the awards assembly he received the "Outstanding Student" Award Plaque. The award was based on academics, effort, social interaction & being well rounded. Way to go Ethan! He is officially a 2nd grader now!

Planted cucumbers,squash,cantaloupe & watermelon a little over 2 weeks ago. Covered with a frost cloth & just uncovered today. I had to do ALOT of thinning! We also have fruit on our trees - Macintosh & Fuji apples, Bing & pie cherries, Prunes & Plums. Not sure on the Peach & Pear trees yet. We will also have some grapes, raspberries, blueberries & strawberries this year. The only problem is keeping ahead of Weeds. We bought 3way garden mix from Sunrise and what i thought were alfalfa sprouts in the dirt turned out to be 4 different kinds of weeds! argh!
We are having lettuce & radishes from our garden tonight for dinner.

Went to sewing night at church and made a bunch of rags out of worn out clothes with my Serger that my honey got me for Christmas (faster & easier than cutting by hand), sewed patches on cub scout uniforms & had a good time visiting with the ladies.

Also, if you have any albums that are 12x12 or 7x7 that you bought in 2008 or earlier that are the "old" size, they will be discontinuing the pages & page protectors for them in September. The new sizes are called "True 12x12" & 8x8.

The "old" pages will fit into the new albums, but the new pages will stick out of the old albums. So, if you order more pages than you end up needing you can still use them (or hold onto them for a year & sell them on Ebay for twice what you paid).

I am also having a "Stop N Shop" this Friday (I will have all the products I have on hand out on display, ready for purchase). You can stop by anytime from 10am-2pm. Grayson likes to eat hot dogs by first removing the dog from the bun, then licking all the ketchup off the bun, then eating the bun, then finally eating the weiner but first always requesting more ketchup!!

just put my 13 yr old on a plane to Los Angeles . she'll be gone 23days. 1st time away from home.

Took the cub scouts on a hike today at Dishman Hills. Grayson went with us and he LOVED it! He screamed whenever we tried to pick him up and carry him.

So far today i have steam cleaned puke stains out of my carpet, steam mopped my floors twice, cleaned up pee (several times), sold my old serger, spent an hour at Jasmyns school, cleaned up oatmeal that Grayson so happily threw, rubbed & mushed all over himself & everything around him, made phone calls, refilled prescriptions & now off to Albertsons to go grocery shopping!

Wednesday

Took Grayson to the doctor. He has a sinus infection, started him on Amoxicillin. Made beef stew. Put Mantis tiller together. Took Jasmyn to basketball practice. Went to sewing class at church. Have had a HUGE headache ALL day and it won't go away!

Tuesday

Grayson didn't wake up until 11:00am today! And when he did he had a barking cough and green snot running down his nose and out of both eyes...yuck. I spent from 6:30am-1:30pm (sheri came over & helped me at 10:30am) making baby shower invitations. I really wanted to use the new Cm puzzle maker, so we did, that just entailed lots of details that took alot longer than i had anticipated! will post pic when get more made , sent 30 out, now need to make some to hand out at church. Got ready for scouts, then left at 2:30 so i could get groceries for dinner before picking up cub scouts from school at 3:15. Had scout til 5:30, then dinner, then off to Jasmyn's Choir concert. Afterwards we HAD to run by the church so Jasmyn could get some pizza (cause YW activity tonight was a pizza party). Then home, said goodnight to the kiddos and went to post the video of Jasmyn singing on Facebook. Aren't

Update continued

I forgot to mention that i made 4 raised bed gardens. one 4x8, two 3x6ft, one 4x4ft all 12 inches deep. Stapled two layers of chicken wire and a layer of landscape fabric to the bottom of each one. Planted veggies in all of them. Also, made a raised garden bed out of the landscape rocks we had around our compost pile that we also redid. planted blueberry bushes in that. going to do another rock raised bed & plant strawberries in it. Put up stake supports around all of our fruit trees which look like they will all bear fruit this year! yeah! also hooked up that outdoor sink we've had sitting in our garage for 3 yrs! Transplanted about 20 plants/ground cover. got a drip system set up to each tree, flower & garden bed. We might get our back yard done this year! Someday, i want to have a concrete border done in our back yard so we dont have to keep fighting the grass!

Update

Last Sunday after church we went out to my Aunt Rhonda's in wolf lodge for a family dinner to celebrate my cousin Melanie Hall's upcoming wedding. While i was there i got about a 100 thornless raspberry starts, which i spent all day monday transplanting. Friday was the father/son campout. Dave took Ethan. Jasmyn, Grayson and I went to my cousin Matthew's Eagle Scout court of honor award dinner at that new River something park. It was nice, only rained for about ten minutes. Found out that my cousin Kami Paulson is getting married to Matt Davis (his mom did the ettiquette dinner for YM/YW activity in April). Saturday, I had a garage sale with my cousin Brian & Bonnie at their house. It was windy all day and only rained long enough for us to get everything covered, then it stopped. I got home about 5:30pm, ate dinner (Dave made spaghetti), gave Grayson a bath, then laid down with grayson
about 6:15...just for a minute...well, i woke up around 11pm! Guess i was tired! Kids all sick today
